Had some work to do in Chelsea and booked this hotel based on the outstanding location. I knew it had a funky vibe based on the online photos, but had no clue how trendy and unique it would be until I walked into the lobby, saw the impeccably dressed patrons and realized I was out of my element. But it was the room that truly set this hotel apart. Sure the accommodations were small, as most are in the city, but everything from the Jetsons-like light switches, the platform bed and cowhide ottoman, to the chainmail shower curtains and house music pumping into the bathroom from ceiling speakers, made for a surprising adventure. The best way to describe the room is that I felt like I was on a Carnival cruise ship, with the giant porthole windows and minimal square-footage.
