California has witnessed an intense battle over the equalization of gay marriage in recent years. Hardly introduced after many years of fighting for it, gay marriage next found itself prohibited again by a surprisingly successful referendum Proposition 8. The Supreme Court's decision in June upheld the verdict of the Californian court so that gay marriage is once again legal in California. Hardly any other city is as closely associated with the gay movement in people's minds as San Francisco. The famous Castro district with its expansive, lively gay scene attracts many younger homosexuals again today.

They run from cheap and dirty to mildly clean and expensive. Am I out of my mind? I was a local there for a few years, which definitely helps. My trip to san francisco and gay hotel Parc 55 Wyndham
The Castro is San Francisco's gay village and is iconic for being the backdrop to the gay rights movement in the 60s and 70s and a continued space for LGBT people living in or visiting San Francisco. There is a great diversity of people, from tourists and tour groups, LGBT people and supporters some more out there than others - don't be surprised to see nudity, even in the daytime , hippies, and sadly some homeless people and those a bit down on their luck I had a man come and grab a tomato sauce sachet off my table to eat as I sat in a nearby cafe, and another man was talking to people in a shop who didn't seem to exist. The Castro is just so wonderfully diverse and everyone seems accepted here and able to express their individuality. Probably the most memorable part of my 4 day trip to San Fran and I'd encourage everyone to visit. We stayed in a lovely Edwardian house on Castro St for a week.
